Definition of forum - A meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.
This is one part of the forum I am not going to like posting, but for the smooth running for all members, please abide by them.
1) As a member of Manchester & Salford family history forum, you are not allowed to do anything that hinders other peoples' ability to use and enjoy the forums.
2) Under no circumstances will pornography or adult content be allowed on Manchester & Salford family history forum.
3) Manchester & Salford family history forum does not allow any sexually explicit material within its posts. No explicit sexual acts portrayed in text, and no pornographic or nude pictures posted in posts.
4) Manchester & Salford family history forum will not tolerate rude, offensive or flaming posts, directed toward a guest or member. No member or guest is allowed to flame, publicly harass, argue, or fight on these boards. No posts should contain an insult toward any other guest or member. If you disagree with someone, post a well-reasoned rebuttal. You do not have the right to attack them or to simply label their views as irrelevant or misguided.
5) Multiple accounts are not permitted at Manchester & Salford family history forum. They are deceitful and will not be tolerated. If you choose to delete your account from Manchester & Salford family history forum and then decide to return again at a later date, please use your old display name or identify yourself to the board. If you have forgotten your password, then click on the "Forgot your password?" button when signing in and you will be able to reset your password.
6) Please ensure that any signature image that you use is no larger than 500 pixels in width x 200 pixels in height. The reason for this is because it forces members to have to scroll sideways to read the entire post and many large images on one page causes the page to load slowly.
7) Please also remember that you may not use copyrighted images here. Any pictures that contain watermarks should not appear on the Manchester & Salford family history forum.
8) Would all new members please make at least 1 post on the board, otherwise we will assume your registration has failed and your account will be deleted.
9) The above forum rules where applicable also apply to private messaging. Abuse of the private messaging system may lead to warnings (I am hoping this will never happen) or resulting in a temp/permanent ban.
10) Please try to make sure nothing that is copy written is posted on this forum. I know we are not legal wizards, but please do check before posting anything. Anything found to be illegal will be removed.
11) Any images that you post on the forum or emailed to me; will by you posting them, become copy right of the forum. This is so if any other person/site use them, they have to either acknowledge the owner or this site. If you're not happy with this please refrain from posting images.
12) Could all members please post on their profile where they are located in the world. Just the city and country will suffice.
13) The use of text talk is difficult to understand for many, and should not be used, any found will be removed without notification.
14) Please note* UK Census Information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk
Please DO NOT directly copy and paste from subscribed website as this will be removed, please take the time to type it out your self.
15) Commercial & professional researchers will not be allowed to ply for trade on this forum or post their web site on their profile. Anyone found to be requesting help from our members for financial gain will be removed from this forum. This forum is set up not for financial gain but to assist people research their family, not for any third part to make financial gain from information gained from our forum or members. Also any professional researcher will not be able to send personal messages on this forum.
16) Would all new members please make at least 1 post on the board otherwise we will assume your registration has failed and your account may be deleted. By doing this, it will also unlock a lot more of this forum to you and you will be able to receive further help. Failure to do this after one month will result in your account been disabled. If you have an account and have not posted within one month from joining, your account will be disabled and the only way to re-activate your account will be to email the administrator giving a reason why you want to be part of this forum.
